Worried about your toddler’s development? I help you know what to do next. 👉 SLP • 35+ years

It’s not about checking off tasks.

It’s about learning how to live together.

Families are teams.
And when children are invited into that—
they don’t just “help.”

They begin to understand how life works.

Most toddler sleep struggles aren’t just about sleep.

They show up as:
• more meltdowns
• less listening
• slower language

And after 35+ years working with families, I can tell you this with confidence:

👉 Sleep is when your toddler’s brain is being built.

Not just resting…
building.

Construction.

Which means the small things you do during the day matter more than most parents realize.

The good news?

You don’t need complicated routines or perfect schedules.

You need a few simple rhythms that support your child’s brain, body, and connection.

I put together a simple list of 10 steps I use with families all the time.

If you want it:

👉 DM me SLEEP and I’ll send it to you

And if you want to understand why this matters (and how it connects to behavior, listening, and language)…

That baby crawling across the floor to grab the rattle?

That's not just cute.

That's motor planning, bilateral coordination, core strength, visual tracking, cause and effect, object permanence, spatial awareness and problem solving — all happening simultaneously in a nine month old with a toy on the floor.

I've spent decades watching babies play up close. And I want to tell you what I actually see.

A full body neurological event.

Among the most sophisticated neurological work a human being will ever do — simply because the brain is starting from nothing and building everything.

These moments are not small.

And background TV — even when nobody is watching, even when his back is to the screen — is quietly disrupting the depth of that play in ways most parents have never been told.

This is just one of five research-based findings I cover in Episode 145. The other four surprised even me — and I've been doing this for nearly four decades.

Full episode 145 is live now — link in bio.

💬 When you watch your baby or toddler play — what do you actually notice? I'd love to hear what you see. 👇
