Hello! I am the sunrise meteorologist for KAVU - TV in Victoria Texas!
Still watching and tracking rain and thunderstorms across the area this evening. Some of these storms will produce heavy rainfall. If you notice on the future tracker radar, the rain quickly gets pushed away, replaced by dry air and sunny skies by Sunday morning. Until then stay weather aware for the net few hours, We will keep you updated. ~ Trey
We now have a tropical depression in the far southern Gulf. Tropical depression 2 is forecast to become tropical storm Barry before moving into Mexico by Monday. This system is likely to stay well south of the Texas coast. However, we will keep rain chances rather high for Sunday and Monday, with continued moisture flow around the system moving into Texas. ~ Trey
