2024 Archaeological Conferences & Communities Recap: Part V
📍 HDR, Inc. – Dallas, Texas
🚲💙 Giving Back in Dallas with HDR & All Kids Bike 💙🚲
This past November, I had the privilege of volunteering with HDR, Inc. Dallas as we partnered with All Kids Bike, a program of the Strider® Education Foundation. Their mission? To teach every child in America how to ride a bike in kindergarten PE class — building confidence, independence, and lifelong skills.
HDR donated complete bike packages to two Dallas-area elementary schools, and I personally checked each bike to make sure they were ready to roll! 🙌 A special touch that came with the program was a BMX children’s book illustrated by my cycling friend, Edward Dennis — a perfect way to spark adventure and imagination for the kids. 📖✨
I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this giving-back initiative. Here’s to more opportunities like this where we can blend community, cycling, and smiles. 💪💫
Thank you HDR and All Kids Bike for making such a meaningful difference.

I took a break from posting on social media for the most part of 2024.
The year(s) of struggling to complete my thesis leading up to graduation, along with racing and personal relationships stresses, I was burnt out. I think that I had been in survival mode for so long that my cortisone levels were fried.
I made a post early in 2024 about that year being my Kode year, but truth was, I was not recovered enough to pursue my goal again fully. 2024 turned out to be about healing, rebalancing, and rebuilding the mind, body, soul, and financial means.
What I like about posting on social media is that it can be a time capsule or a journal documenting life events for better or worse. For that reason and before I update on my 2025 adventures, I want to revisit some highlights and summaries from 2024 in some upcoming posts.
Thank you for the continued support and following along my little journey and perspective of this funny thing called life.

Monday was world bike day!
I am so grateful for having cycling in my life. It truly is my active mediation. Training and racing provides me with so much wisdom and perspective on how to handle challenges in life. Cycling just makes me a better, well rounded, and emotionally stable person.
After an intense couple of years of racing at the national elite level, I step back and race just collegiately for a few years while finishing my masters degree. I took some time off the bike and training the last few months so get my personal life back in order while I transition into this new phase of my life.
I am slowly getting training again to race at the elite level again in 2025. But this time allllll disciplines: mtb, cx, gravel, road, crits, and even track and fixie races if I can get my hands on a good track bike.
I want to take some time to say thank you for all those who supported me throughout my journey.
We back baby!
School, money, and relationship stresses were like a weighted vest on me holding me back in racing and life.
All of those stress factors have been resolved.
I am ready to go Super Saiyan Reedy on the bikes and in life! Lfggg! Bison mode!
