A study conducted by The Chief, Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery showed that patients recovering in a power lift chair had a shorter recovery time with more comfort and faster hospital discharge than patients recovering in a traditional hospital bed.
Lift chair patients saw an earlier home readiness, meeting discharge criteria faster. They were able to ambulate and void sooner than hospital bed patients and also achieved better pain control and an acceptable level of consciousness, allowing for earlier discharge home.
