Sunday, Jan. 23 is Maternal Health Awareness Day — a day to raise awareness about the maternal mortality crisis in America.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 700 women in the United States die each year as a result of pregnancy or delivery complications.
