I know for sure I want these four babies sitting in the metaphorical shade in the decades to come. I want them as happy, healthy and financially secure as possible. Throwback Thursday to these newlyweds January 2010.
I was a hairstylist in a fancy salon. He was a reservist with SpecOp goals. We knew what we wanted, but like most newlyweds…we didn’t know what life had in store for us.
A few months after this photo we were expecting our first child, starting a new military contract, moving across the country and SO MUCH MORE life after that. Honestly? We weren’t prepared.
We did the best we could, but looking back we’d have done so much differently if someone knowledgeable had been guiding us in the area of our finances.
We purchased furniture, cars, homes, etc…with no real plan. We survived vacations and holidays, but not without stress. We made it work…but a few small changes would have made a big difference.
That’s why I’m passionate about what I do now. Helping guide military families through their finances and hearing their needs and goals makes me excited for them.
Creating plans for them to make decisions that are planned and they are confident about brings me a level of satisfaction I can’t describe. I know the impact it can have.
