Changing your thoughts can influence your behavior through various mechanisms.

Neuroscience has shown that our thoughts, beliefs, and intentions have a tangible impact on the brain's structure and function, which, in turn, can shape our actions.

Here's how changing your thoughts can lead to changes in behavior according to neuroscience:

Neuroplasticity: The brain's ability to change and adapt, underpins this process. When you intentionally change your thoughts, engage in new cognitive patterns, or learn new behaviors, it can lead to the formation of new neural connections and the strengthening of existing ones.

Cognitive-Behavioral Loop: The brain operates in a continuous feedback loop between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. When you change your thoughts, it can lead to shifts in your emotional responses and subsequently affect your behavior.

For example, if you change negative thought patterns to more positive ones, you are likely to experience more positive emotions, which can influence your behavior in a constructive way.

Brain Circuitry: Different thoughts and behaviors activate specific neural circuits in the brain. When you consistently engage in new thought patterns or behaviors, you can strengthen the associated brain circuits.

To illustrate, practicing mindfulness meditation can lead to changes in brain regions associated with attention, emotion regulation, and self-awareness.

I'm so in love with our beloved brain. I will share more if you are interested.

I believe bridging science with spirituality can have several benefits and implications. In fact, I found robust empirical studies that documented it.

I studied for years how the neural and psychological mechanisms underlying spirituality can be scientifically explained.

By embracing the invaluable insights of science, we can better understand fundamental aspects of human experience, promote dialogue between different disciplines, and provide further resources to counselors and practitioners, informing and enhancing therapeutic approaches.

Also, during times of personal challenges, such as illness, divorce, or relocation, we need coping mechanisms that help us navigate such transitions in a healthy way. Spirituality may play a significant role in how we cope. Understanding its neurobiological basis can empower our personal development and transformation.

Answer the bell! No matter what you are going through, answer the bell!

I am in the middle of the tornado, getting my business established. But I have committed to following through on every aspect of my journey.

Sometimes unexpected challenges have the potential to derail your mission. Do not allow that to happen!

Despite whatever headwinds you may face always stay true to your journey.

What headwinds are you facing on your path to achieving your life mission goals?

I was once asked what my "secret sauce" was to lead such a successful multi-ethnic, multi-racial team in a highly volatile work environment. Was it having the courage to act with conviction? Or having a clear vision? Was it passion or good judgment, instincts, or humility?

All of the elements mentioned were vital for an aligned work environment. However, my first and foremost quality was humility.

As leaders, we must perceive changes and respond fast. The responsiveness of our team is a product of embracing diversity, whereby we humbly accept that our own perspectives need to be broadened by others.

Humility does not mean we are quiet or lack the courage to say what we think. On the contrary, courage and humility complement one another rather than contradict each other.

I have been humbled by being down and out; thus, today, I have more courage to face life's inevitable challenges by respectfully speaking up when I can't entirely agree and resisting safe conformity when I perceive a need for change.

My commitment to serving entails the humbling realization that I am interdependent with others.

What is your "secret sauce" for your success?
