This week, families welcomed their newest babies, marking a truly special celebration across our maternity unit.

We’re so grateful to be part of these milestones, supporting moms, welcoming new life, and caring for families as they grow. Wishing all moms a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love! 💐

A few weeks ago we celebrated achieving Magnet with Distinction for nursing excellence and our theme was Wizard of Oz.

How fitting this rainbow showed up over our hospital this morning! 🌈 🌅

In honor of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital welcomed more than 600 runners this weekend for our annual Don’t Sit on Colon Cancer 5K.

According to the American Cancer Society, colon cancer is projected to become the leading cause of cancer death among Americans under age 50 by 2026. This event helps raise awareness about the importance of early detection and routine screening starting at age 45.

Together, survivors, thrivers, patients, families, and healthcare team members came together to celebrate life, honor loved ones, and stand united in the fight against colon cancer.

🎉 We did it! SPAH has received Magnet with Distinction from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)!! 🎉

With our Wizard of Oz–inspired theme, our amazing nurses showed why this place truly has heart, courage, and brilliance. 🌈🪄

This honor places SPAH among the elite. Fewer than 10% of U.S. hospitals achieve Magnet status, and only about 75 hospitals worldwide have earned Magnet with Distinction.

We welcomed Virginia Beach Firefighter and EMT Biersan Gomez back to Sentara Princess Anne Hospital to reconnect with the coworker, first responders, and care teams who helped save his life after a stroke. Team members from Virginia Beach EMS and Virginia Beach Fire Department were in attendance! Our Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance wasn't able to attend but they played a pivotal role in saving Biersan's life.

From FAST thinking in the field to seamless hospital care, this is what teamwork look like. We’re so grateful to be part of Biersan’s story.
