✍🏼 Where do you write?

My writing desk is normally anything but a desk. I like to write when I am inspired to write, not by sitting down and forcing myself to churn out pages of text. And I write everywhere. I use the note feature on my phone to dictate every new thought. Because I split my time between the beach and the mountains, it is usually while strolling along on the sand or hiking to some remote lake in the Rocky Mountains. Here is a photo of me at one of my favorite lakes. I have sat on this ridge and dictated many chapters.

Plane rides are also great. I usually traverse the world a couple of times each year. Long flights like the ones from San Francisco to Sydney or Singapore are great times to write, especially when there is no Internet.

✍🏼 Where do you find inspiration in the day-to-day?

Now that we’ve completed our beach home in La Jolla, this is the view out of my office window. I now enjoy the sunsets while writing. This view is a great way to tap into creative juices.
