Warm weather is upon us, and like everyone, horses are in danger of overheating.
An effective way to help in cooling off, give your horse an alcohol bath. (Not beer/liquor,lol).
Make a rubbing alcohol and cool water mix to douse your horse with. Alcohol evaporates faster than water and thus helps your horse cool off. This 50/50 mixture is also handy to have ringside in a sq**rt bottle to spray the neck and inner hind legs when your horse has a walk break.

When I worked on the track, we did this almost every day, after a horse was worked.
