The Chilly Mermaid

It’s been a fun 5 years but the pandemic did us in . It’s hard enough to run a business 3 months out of the year and pay all the bills, even harder when events are cancelled for 2 seasons. I’m back to teaching full time and have passed this baby on to become a taco truck ! I’m grateful for all my customers these past 5 years, for the NICRA organization and all its members that gave me tips on creating flavors and tweaking recipes. Also a big thank you to the members of Street Food Revolutionaries, the Hampton Roads Food Truck Association and Eat the Streets 757 who helped with booking events and food truck advice ! A HUGE Thank you to my husband who built the truck then kept it up and running, emptying and filling the water tanks all the time , fixing the generator and so much more ! Thanks to my daughters who worked along side me and “hardly complained “ and taste tested all the flavors I would create ! I’ve learned a ton, met so many people and had so much fun !! For now , it’ll just be home gelato making for me! BUT who knows what’s around the next corner ....
