Hi friends. Quick share... A few months ago, I slipped a new song release sorta under the radar. It's a very dear song to me, but at the time I didn't have the bandwidth to promote it at all. It's called "Mountains". It'll be on my upcoming album, "For Others, Vol. II". I am over the moon excited this song and intensely grateful for it. Why? Because it was one of those songs that just dropped out of the sky into my lap. Well, it goes a bit deeper than that, but suffice to say that it came from a rush of inspiration I felt while performing some songs at the Celebration of Life for a dear friend's son, who passed away tragically in a motorcycle accident. I was so deeply inspired by hearing the stories and epic tales of Tait's life by his family and friends that when I sat down the next morning to write a song for his mom, to my surprise, instead of a heavy-laden song about such a painful loss, this joyful anthem to living life to the fullest came out. As I wrote and in my meditation for the song, I invited Tait to be present in the writing of the song, and I think he had a hand in helping people celebrate his zest for life, and wanted to inspire others to do the same.

His mom had shared with me that one of Tait's favorite axioms to live by was the John Muir quote, "The Mountains are calling, and I must go...." That, paired with one of Tait's friends sharing with her that one time, Tait had invited this friend up to join him in the mountains for some hiking/camping. The friend showed up around the designated meeting spot and was wondering where Tait was. He heard music playing, and he followed the music through the trees until he found Tait, jamming on his guitar, as he loved to do out in the wilderness. Perfect imagery for this song. I released the song this year on his birthday, June 15th.
