✨ Behind the scenes in the paint studio! 🎨🪟
Every painted detail you see in a finished stained glass window begins with hours of patient, meticulous work. These photos offer a glimpse into the artistry that happens long before a window is assembled.
At the light table, our painters carefully apply specialized vitreous paints by hand to each piece of glass, creating delicate shading, facial features, textures, and intricate details. Once painted, every piece is placed into the kiln and fired at high temperatures, permanently fusing the paint to the glass. 🔥
Many pieces require multiple rounds of painting and firing to achieve the depth, dimension, and richness that bring the artwork to life. The final photo shows some of the painted pieces coming together on the full-size pattern—a rewarding milestone as the window begins to take shape. ✨
It's a process that blends artistry, craftsmanship, and centuries-old techniques to create stained glass that will inspire for generations. ❤️

✨ Throwback Thursday ✨
Today we’re looking back at another beautiful custom table handcrafted by our master woodworker, Nathan Stanton. 🪵✨
This piece was designed and built to highlight the natural character of the wood while creating a clean, timeless form suited for everyday use. Every surface was carefully shaped, sanded, and finished by hand to bring out the depth, warmth, and movement in the grain. 🌳
Nathan’s approach to woodworking is rooted in precision and respect for the material—letting the wood guide the final design while ensuring the piece is built to last for generations. The result is a table that feels both refined and natural, made to be lived with and gathered around. ❤️
At Stanton Studios, we believe custom furniture should be as enduring as it is beautiful, and this project is a perfect example of that philosophy.

✨ Behind the scenes in the mudroom! ✨
Not every step of creating a stained glass window is glamorous—but every step is essential. 🪟🛠️
Emma is carefully buffing the windows with whiting while Aaron removes the excess grout, both important parts of the waterproofing process for a new set of custom stained glass windows being created for St. Michael's & All Angels Church in Dallas, Texas. 💙
After the lead came is soldered, a specialized cement (often called grout) is worked into every joint of the window. This waterproofs the panel, strengthens the structure, and helps ensure the window will stand the test of time. Once the cement has cured, the excess is cleaned away and the window is buffed with whiting, leaving the glass sparkling clean and the lead lines beautifully finished. ✨
It's meticulous work that takes patience, skill, and attention to detail—but it's all part of creating handcrafted stained glass windows that will inspire for generations.
Stay tuned as we continue sharing the journey of these beautiful custom windows! ❤️

✨
We're excited to share a look at the hand-painted stained glass window of Saint Marcus currently in progress for Christ the King Church in Dallas, Texas.
This section of the window has been placed on the easel so our team can evaluate how the painted details and colors are developing in the light. Viewing the glass at this stage allows us to make any necessary adjustments and fine-tune the artwork before moving forward.
We continue to be inspired by the incredible craftsmanship of our painting team and are thrilled with how this window is coming together. The richness of the colors and the beautiful details are already beginning to shine through.
Stay tuned as we move closer to the finished installation—we can't wait to share the completed window with you!
