Earlier this year the Connect2 Twitter account was hacked. An unknown IP address swooped in and changed the password and recovery email within one minute. But we acted, and fast, to restore access to our account and immediately re-adjusted our securities. If you're thinking, "yeah but that'll never happen to me," we're here to tell you that unfortunately, it can. But if you take the right steps quickly, you can decrease the damage that a social media hack can cause.

Our hope is that our story, and our tips for prevention, can help other social media managers, and even more so, companies without designated social media managers, should you ever face a similar event.
