Verifying security in a cost-effective way is a concern among MCX users. During the recent ETSI FRMCS observer demo, Valid8 demonstrated how its tools can be used to run 3GPP TS 33.180 security tests against MCX equipment. We selected one of the MCX client vendors (Softil) to highlight how this kind of test can be run in an easily automated fashion. In the demo, we executed the 5.1.1 test scenario which proved that a non-authenticated user could only make an emergency call. Valid8 looks forward to continuing to provide automated security conformance test suites to the MCX industry.
