Giving back to our community is important to us!

Saturday we spent the morning doing habitat restoration, flinging frozen salmon carcasses into a local stream, just like they'd be after spawning. Someone caught our truck and a crew of volunteers in action. Can you spot Josh in his orange waders?

Fish tossing! These frozen fall chinook came from this year’s 2025 return stock to a local hatchery. The fish are spawned, checked for pit tags, then sampled for disease before being tossed back into a local tributary. The decomposing carcasses provide tons of nutrients and food to the ecosystem, which in turn helps next year’s juvenile salmon to grow big and healthy. This effort, with 30 volunteers allowed us to place nearly 1600 fish into this small stream!

The color palette 🎨 for our moody bedroom refresh is chosen. Now the decor is coming together.

Sometimes a piece of art inspires our color ways, but see our earlier post for the rug that's informing this design. Of course, Bowie is always an inspiration.

Just before moving to Walla Walla, Josh was managing this kitchen project for Mallet Design Build, where he was employed. Sadly, he wasn't able to be there for the reveal, but we love seeing it finished. It's a beauty! 😍🔨

In this color drenched primary bedroom refresh, the rich blue and ruby hues enhance the yellows and golds in the rug even more than we anticipated, and make the 125 year old door hardware glow. Sweet dreams.
