I have to say I have THE BEST Crew ever 💕💕💕💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

As we are driving home from Buffalo I’m feeling relieved. I’m feeling my competitiveness again. Just knowing that Janis has the engine is like a huge weight off my shoulders and my gut is happy again. The comfort and confidence that the Janis team gives me is so undescribable. I feel whole with them. Looking forward to getting back on the track and getting that Jan-Cen power back to work.

If anyone thinks racing is easy just talk to a racer......We put our heart and soul into this sport. Every waking moment we are not at our daily jobs we are working on the race car, rv or trailer. We pass up invitations for social events so that we can be ready for our next race. We lose sleep not being able to turn our brains off trying to figure out a problem or tune up.
Then its race day and all the preperation, planning and testing goes to hell in a handbag in just 6 seconds. You checked everything possible, you tested everything you could before going up to staging and then IT HAPPENS!!!!!!

A chain of different events causes you to question yourself over and over and over. The damages are in your face but you cant go back to change anything. Now you have to start all over. All the work over the winter needs to be done in just weeks if you want to run the season. Sending out different pieces/parts of the car that was found to have issues and now your not in control of anything and all you can do is wait for the phone calls, wait to hear what the damages are and wait to get it all back so you can work endless days and nights to get back on the track.

So if anyone thinks racing is all fun and easy talk to a racer. Win, lose or break its a ton of work, sweat and sleepless nights. Yes we eat breathe and live this life style, yes it DOES pay off in the end as long as you stay positive and determined and YES I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF THIS LIFE.

Woke up this morning feeling empty. Re-running that pass in my head over and over again. What could I have done differently?? It wasn’t the engines fault, it wasn’t the transmissions fault…. Working with Anthony at the track on the electronics to find issue in race pack so we have that being fixed but still feel like I could have done something to save us from this set back. I feel like I let my team down and my sponsors. Talked with Mike Janis Jr over the weekend and he is so amazing at telling me straight up “ this is just a hiccup in the season”
I really appreciate that from someone that means the world to me. I know we have the entire season ahead of us so if it had to happen I guess being the first race is the best time to happen. We have the whole season ahead of us and Janis Racing Engines will make sure we are there and running strong again. I have NO Doubts about it. Select transmissions builds a kick ass transmission. For all I put my transmission through it’s rock solid and no damage. I have THE BEST of THE BEST combination of people in my corner and I’m not giving up on any of this. Stretch and I WILL be back out soon and ready to play it down. Thank You to everyone’s kind positive energy and support. I’m just bummed I couldn’t come through this weekend for my team and my sponsors. I can assure them that when we come back it will be with SOOOO much more determination than we have ever had. Our glass is ALWAYS half full!!!!!!

There are so many highs and lows in racing. Most lows than highs at times but it all levels out eventually. Here we are at NED on race day broke but multiple teams who are still racing themselves are STILL over here in our pit working on Stretch. Are we broke, Yes. Is this a low, Hell No!! Not with all the positivity and help that comes our way when we need it. I beat myself up so bad yesterday trying to figure out what I could have done to not have this happen. Woke up this morning to a new day and new mind set. How can anyone who loves everything about this sport feel down with friends like this. We will be back with the same determination and positivity and we will go rounds again. Thank You Anastasios Kaidirmaoglou and family, Thank You to the entire Midnight Sun Team, and Jeff Kundratic. Thank You to my crew Dave Dayton, Claudia, Mel, and especially Frank for never giving up. Thank You Mike Janis and Mike Janis Jr for ALWAYS getting us on the track. Unfortunately our weekend is over just like that. They say that’s racing. I swear I’m going to get this black cloud to turn pink again soon. Had a great light and Stretch left hard but never shifted and boom went a head gasket. So back to the shop to take apart the motor and see what exact damage we have to fix. Still positive and still looking forward to next race.
