UPDATE: The man accused of killing Milford mother of three Julie Minogue now faces more charges. Today Ewen Dewitt was served with a new warrant for harassing Minogue and violating a standing protective order before her death. Dewitt allegedly sent her 220 text messages including threats. This warrant was initially submitted to prosecutors weeks ahead of her murder. It was reviewed and returned to police with a request for more information, then not resubmitted, according to the state’s attorney. The CT Dept. of Criminal Justice did not respond to a request for clarification on what information was needed, and Milford police have not commented on what happened. Dewitt, meanwhile, made his first in-person court appearance in the murder case today. His public defender and family members declined to comment.
