Move to feel. Feel to Heal
Know YourSelf Series: Coping Strategies đ
How do you respond when youâre triggered?
Do you shop, scroll, overwork, exercise, people-please, eat, drink, or distract yourself?
Coping strategies arenât the enemyâtheyâre often your nervous systemâs way of finding safety. Instead of judging them, get curious. They can point to a deeper wound thatâs asking for your attention.
The more you understand your triggers and create space between the trigger and your reaction, the more freedom you have to choose a new response.
Healing starts with awareness. Self-compassion keeps it going. đ¤

A new month brings a new opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and come home to yourself.
Instead of chasing, try breathing.
Instead of pushing, try listening.
Instead of surviving, choose to regulate your nervous system and create space for healing.
The energy you cultivate within becomes the life you experience around you.
What intention are you setting for July? đđ
Two gentle reminders today. đ¤
1. You donât have to have everyone like you.
Not everyone willâand thatâs okay.
2. You donât have to be a people pleaser or put yourself second.
Every time you abandon your own needs to keep others comfortable, your body notices. It can leave your nervous system feeling stressed, flooded with cortisol, and scattered.
Choose yourself.
Set the boundary.
Speak the truth.
The people meant for you wonât require you to lose yourself to keep them.
Your body feels the difference.
Whatâs your favorite breathing technique for finding your way back to calm? đż
Mine is box breathing.
Itâs simple, effective, and gives your nervous system a chance to shift out of stress and into regulation.
⨠Inhale for 4.
⨠Hold for 4.
⨠Exhale for 4.
⨠Hold for 4.
Repeat for a few rounds and notice what changesânot by forcing yourself to relax, but by giving your body the conditions to feel safe.
Whatâs your go-to breathing practice? Iâd love to hear it in the comments. đ

One is designed to sustain life.
The other is designed to generate profit.

âď¸ Humanâs Greedy Descent
Not everyone will agreeâand thatâs okay. The goal isnât to tell you what to think. Itâs to encourage you to ask questions, stay curious, and make informed choices.

There was a time I thought healing meant pushing through.
Trying harder.
Thinking differently.
Ignoring what my body was trying to tell me.
But our bodies donât speak to make life harder.
They speak because theyâre trying to protect us.
Sometimes the most healing thing you can do isnât fix yourselfâitâs get curious.
What is your body asking for today?
Sometimes the hardest person to receive love from is ourselves.
If saying âI am proud of who I amâ creates resistance, thatâs not a sign to stopâitâs an invitation to listen.
Notice what your body feels. Breathe through the discomfort. Release the old stories that say you have to earn your worth.
Your pride doesnât come from perfection.
It comes from honoring the person youâve become.
đ Save this mantra and come back to it whenever you need a reminder.
Your emotional well-being doesnât just affect your moodâit affects your health.
After more than 20 years in naturopathic practice, Iâve seen it time and time again. Chronic stress, unresolved emotions, and living in survival mode can show up as physical symptoms in the body.
Healing isnât just about supplements or nutrition. Itâs also about creating safety in your nervous system and addressing whatâs happening beneath the surface.
When we care for both the body and the emotions, thatâs where lasting healing begins. â¤ď¸âđŠš
One year ago, I made a decision that changed my life.
On June 4th, I chose to stop drinking alcoholânot because I had to, but because I wanted something more for myself.
What I discovered was that true healing wasnât about willpower. It was about learning to listen to my body.
Through Somatic Activated Healingâ˘, I learned how to regulate my nervous system, process emotions instead of numbing them, and create safety within myself. The cravings for escape became less powerful as I became more connected to who I truly am.
Today, I celebrate one year alcohol-free. Not as a milestone of deprivation, but as a celebration of freedom, clarity, presence, and deep self-trust.
If youâre struggling, know this: healing is possible. Your body holds incredible wisdom. When we learn to work with it instead of against it, transformation happens.
Hereâs to one year of choosing myself. â¤ď¸
