Two gentle reminders today. 🤍

1. You don’t have to have everyone like you.
Not everyone will—and that’s okay.
2. You don’t have to be a people pleaser or put yourself second.
Every time you abandon your own needs to keep others comfortable, your body notices. It can leave your nervous system feeling stressed, flooded with cortisol, and scattered.

Choose yourself.
Set the boundary.
Speak the truth.
The people meant for you won’t require you to lose yourself to keep them.

Your body feels the difference.

What’s your favorite breathing technique for finding your way back to calm? 🌿

Mine is box breathing.

It’s simple, effective, and gives your nervous system a chance to shift out of stress and into regulation.

✨ Inhale for 4.
✨ Hold for 4.
✨ Exhale for 4.
✨ Hold for 4.

Repeat for a few rounds and notice what changes—not by forcing yourself to relax, but by giving your body the conditions to feel safe.

There was a time I thought healing meant pushing through.

Trying harder.
Thinking differently.
Ignoring what my body was trying to tell me.

But our bodies don’t speak to make life harder.
They speak because they’re trying to protect us.

Sometimes the most healing thing you can do isn’t fix yourself—it’s get curious.

Sometimes the hardest person to receive love from is ourselves.

If saying “I am proud of who I am” creates resistance, that’s not a sign to stop—it’s an invitation to listen.

Notice what your body feels. Breathe through the discomfort. Release the old stories that say you have to earn your worth.

Your pride doesn’t come from perfection.
It comes from honoring the person you’ve become.

After more than 20 years in naturopathic practice, I’ve seen it time and time again. Chronic stress, unresolved emotions, and living in survival mode can show up as physical symptoms in the body.

One year ago, I made a decision that changed my life.

On June 4th, I chose to stop drinking alcohol—not because I had to, but because I wanted something more for myself.

What I discovered was that true healing wasn’t about willpower. It was about learning to listen to my body.

Through Somatic Activated Healing™, I learned how to regulate my nervous system, process emotions instead of numbing them, and create safety within myself. The cravings for escape became less powerful as I became more connected to who I truly am.

Today, I celebrate one year alcohol-free. Not as a milestone of deprivation, but as a celebration of freedom, clarity, presence, and deep self-trust.

If you’re struggling, know this: healing is possible. Your body holds incredible wisdom. When we learn to work with it instead of against it, transformation happens.
