๐ข๐ณ๏ธ Hey neighbors! ๐ก๐
Tomorrow is election day, and I'm excited to be on the ballot for Representative Town Meeting in precinct 8! ๐ I wanted to take a moment to share my vision for our community and why I believe I'm the right choice for this important role.
First and foremost, I want to fight for lower taxes. ๐ฐ๐ฝ As a homeowner and taxpayer myself, I understand the burden that high taxes can place on hardworking families. If elected, I will work tirelessly to find innovative solutions that prioritize fiscal responsibility and ensure that your hard-earned money stays in your pockets where it belongs. Let's make our town an affordable place to live and thrive!
Secondly, as a parent of two young children, I hold our schools dear to my heart. ๐๐ Education is the foundation for a bright future, and I'm committed to providing our schools with the support they need to excel. I believe in investing in our teachers, modernizing classrooms, and creating an environment where our children can grow and succeed. Together, we can build a strong educational system that prepares our kids for the challenges ahead.
But that's not all! When you head to the polls tomorrow, I encourage you to also consider voting for Sarah Khatib for Select Board. Sarah has been a passionate advocate for our community's growth and vitality. She founded Destination Downtown, a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing Walpole's downtown area, and has served on the planning board for two terms. Like me, Sarah believes in the importance of lower taxes and understands the value of a thriving local economy.
Remember to cast your vote tomorrow and make your voice heard. Let's shape the future of our town together! ๐ณ๏ธ๐

Exciting news! Last night, I was caucused into an open RTM seat and sworn in. Afterwards, I voted in Walpoleโs town meeting, representing the people of precinct 8.
In preparation for last night, I watched the past few months Finance Committee meetings in order to understand all viewpoints and make well informed choices. While not every decision was easy, I ultimately voted yes to all 15 articles (linked in the comments below).
As RTM, I pledge to be as transparent as possible and research every article up for a vote. Iโm honored to speak for precinct 8 and will do all I can to be an effective representative. If you live in precinct 8, feel free to contact me about any future town meeting votes.
Looking forward to the next town meeting in spring 2023!

Today, I knocked on doors for the MA Fair Share Amendment. The Fair Share Amendment would tax every dollar over $1 million of income at 4%; if you made $1,000,001 last year, youโd owe $0.04, because it's $1 above $1 million. The revenue from that additional income (about $2 billion) would fund public education and transportation.
I support this ballot initiative because our roads need improvement and low-income schools are being left behind. And frankly, the top 1% isnโt paying their fair share.
I hope youโll join me in supporting YES on 1 as early voting starts in only 3 weeks. Check your voter registration/polling location and Iโll see you at the ballot box in November!

After knocking on as many doors as I could, the big day is finally here tomorrow. Election Day! I'm looking forward to holding my sign outside Fisher School and introducing myself to voters I haven't met yet. See you at the polls!
