The temperatures have turned to Summer overnight. Heat injuries or heat related illnesses occur when the body cannot properly regulate its temperature in hot environments. The spectrum ranges from mild heat cramps to life-threatening heat stroke. Recognizing symptoms and providing rapid first aid is critical. Take proper steps to protect yourself, plenty of breaks, hydration, if possible don’t do strenuous activities during the hottest part of the day, use the shade as much as possible.

We are proud to announce that we have been selected to recieve the Gold Level Mission Lifeline Award through The American Heart Association (AHA). This will be the 3rd year we've recieved the Gold Award and it's only possible by the dedicated, hard working EMTs and Paramedics here at the Walton Fire Protection District. They answer your call in your time of need ensuring they rapidly recognize, treat heart attacks and strokes, then transport the patient to a capable Emergency Department.

Mission: Lifeline EMS® recognition is the American Heart Association’s program that recognizes prehospital emergency agencies for their quality of care for heart attack and stroke patients. The recognition program focuses on transforming care quality by connecting all heart attack and stroke care components into a seamlessly integrated care system. Key tenets of these systems of care reinforce evidence-based guidelines and measure performance, identify gaps, and engage in quality improvement.

It was a great night at the Walton Fire Protection District’s Board Meeting, as we got to welcome 3 new members to our growing family. First off we’d like to welcome Battalion Chief Kenny Schroeder who will be overseeing all of our Training. Next we would like to welcome FF/EMT Drew Howe & FF/EMT Daniel Ball. As our district grows, our responses increase and the need to ensure our crews are trained to meet these needs grows as well. Welcome all, we are happy you’re here and wish you a long and prosperous career.
