I go out of my way to extol the efforts of my students after they've completed the SAT exam, because I know the endurance, learning and effort it took to get there. You all rock!
High school students taking the SAT who rely on their own intelligence or skills learned in school are often shocked and disappointed on test day.
Why? Doesn't school prepare students for the exam? 🤔
No, unfortunately. Not at all.
Highly-intelligent and well-educated students can be tripped up by the complicated phrasing of questions and answers in the SAT test, resulting in a lower score, because the exam has its own set of rules that aren't taught in high school.
