Flag Day is observed each year on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the United States flag in 1777. The Stars and Stripes represent our nation’s history, values, and unity.

This date also marks the U.S. Army’s birthday, established in 1775, making it the oldest branch of the U.S. military. For 251 years, Soldiers have served under the flag, defending the freedoms it symbolizes.

Both observances remind us of the deep connection between our national symbol and those who protect it.
