Recovery begins with feeling seen, supported, and connected. 🧠💜
This National Minority Mental Health Month, we recognize that many Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) experience unique barriers to mental health and substance use treatment, including stigma, discrimination, and limited access to culturally responsive care. Every person deserves support that respects their experiences, identity, and community.

Recovery is possible when people have access to compassionate care, trusted resources, and communities that uplift rather than judge. By increasing awareness and reducing stigma, we can help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to begin—or continue—their recovery journey.

Healing happens in community, and everyone deserves a place where they belong. 💜

Your recovery is something to celebrate. While fireworks light up the sky this Fourth of July, remember to celebrate the quiet victories, too—the boundaries you set, the choices you make, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward every day.

Cookouts, parties, and gatherings often include alcohol, old routines, or situations that may test your recovery.
If this holiday feels different for you, know that you're not alone—and it's okay to put your well-being first.

Here are a few ways to protect your recovery this holiday:
🎆 Make a plan before you go.
🥤 Bring a favorite non-alcoholic drink.
💙 Practice saying "No thanks" with confidence.
🚗 Have a way to leave if you need to.
📱 Stay connected to your sponsor, support group, or someone you trust.
🌿 Give yourself permission to step away if emotions or cravings become overwhelming.

Recovery isn't about having perfect willpower—it's about making choices that support the life you're building. Setting boundaries isn't missing out; it's honoring your progress.

If you're celebrating with someone in recovery, you can make a difference too. Offer non-alcoholic options, respect their choices without question, and create a space where they feel supported, included, and safe.

This holiday, choose peace over pressure. Your recovery is worth protecting—not just today, but every day.
If you or someone you know needs help finding treatment, recovery support, or local resources, we're here to help. Recovery is possible, and no one has to walk the journey alone. 💙

Kids and teens are always watching—and often learning more from what we do than what we say.

Open conversations about substance use, mental health, healthy coping skills, and asking for help can have a lasting impact. By modeling healthy choices and honest communication, we help build resilience and protective factors for the next generation.

This is your sign to be the example they need. ♥️

Community, connection, and support were on full display at the Trumbull County PRIDE event in downtown Warren on June 20. 🌈💙

Our TCMHRB staff members, Lindsay Simstad and Daniela Ghizzoni, were proud to join hundreds of community members and organizations by providing mental health and substance use resources, Naloxone, gun locks, and Deterra medication disposal bags to attendees throughout the day.
We are grateful to have been part of such a welcoming, inclusive, and uplifting event that celebrated the importance of community, acceptance, and well-being for all.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to connect, learn about available resources, and help foster a healthier, stronger Trumbull County.

Together, we continue to build a community where everyone feels seen, supported, and valued. 💚
