Exciting night for Garage Headquarters’ Residential Manager, Larissa Wilcox, at the Rhode Island Builders Association annual meeting. Larissa was honored to be sworn in as Secretary Treasurer for Professional Women in Building for 2024-2025. She has made substantial contributions to the residential construction industry, representing thousands of women.

GHQ Custom Design Experience and Skills Provide Restored Beauty with Practical Functionality

"We are very happy that we chose Garage Headquarters for our four new doors,” said the homeowner. “We moved into an old house that needed historically appropriate doors, while still being durable. The team at Garage Headquarters was able to guide us through the selection process and drafted a plan to reframe the doors. They were very communicative throughout the ordering and installation, and the techs were thorough, clean and eager to make sure we were completely satisfied."
We recently tackled a complex project where we faced multiple serious challenges. There was excessive termite damage and rotting in the openings, and the original openings were too small to accommodate the customers larger vehicles. Our team delivered custom planning and redesign solutions that transformed the space for our local, coastal, Rhode Island client.
To solve the homeowners issues we first had to meet with them and a carpenter on the site to craft a plan. When on-site, one of our technicians discovered that the original openings were not a standard size which meant we needed to reframe a custom layout of all the doors.
The custom engineered openings we designed included three standard, nine-foot-wide openings so the homeowners had more space to drive in their cars and one smaller six-foot opening to allow for easy access to lawn equipment. The termite and rot damage were solved by the replacement of the new door frames.
The GHQ team’s skills and experience enables us to deliver customized solutions that accommodate our clients’ requirements. On this project they resolved the immediate rotting issues and enhanced the functionality and durability of the space.
