Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم — The Head of the State and the Israelites
The verse:
is not a fragment of ancient religious narration. It is a direct and living address—an assertion of authority, identity, and responsibility. It speaks not to mythology, but to a people defined by their alignment with a system of law and collective order.
To understand this verse, one must step away from the abstractions that later traditions have imposed and return to the clarity of language itself.
The word “أَنِّي”—“that I”—is central. It is a first-person declaration, unmistakable and deliberate. This is not the language of distance or mysticism. It is the language of authority speaking in ownership. It is the voice of one who has acted, who has established, and who now reminds.
In this framework, the Qur’anic “I” is the unified voice of sovereign authority, articulated through Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as the head of a state—an organized, law-based system that transformed a people from fragmentation into order.
This is not the voice of a passive preacher. It is the voice of a founder.
The second key lies in the word “نِعْمَتِي” (My favor).
This “favor” is not a vague blessing. It is the granting of liberty—freedom from inherited superstition, priestly dominance, and unexamined traditions that had bound human thought for generations. It is the liberation of the mind and the structuring of society under law.
This “نعمت” was:
• the emergence of clarity over confusion,
• the rise of dignity over subjugation,
• the establishment of law over arbitrariness.
It was, in essence, the creation of a state grounded in justice, equality, and reason.
In this light, Islam appears as a State, not as a religion. The State named ALLAH was a progressive, structured order—a system where individuals wer equal before the law, where women were given equality and dignity and had a standing. The authority of the State was derived from adherence to a higher legal framework rather than personal dominance.
The address to “Bani Israel” must also be understood beyond narrow genealogy. It is not merely ethnic. It is ideological and political. “Israel” here represents a people constituted by law—a community formed by shared commitment to a system that grants liberty and order. It clearly implies THE STATE OF ISRAEL.
Thus, the verse becomes a خطاب to a living political identity.
The phrase:
IT IS I WHO GAVE YOU A MERIT BASED SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT BY WHICH YOU BECAME A NATION THAT HAS RISEN ABOVE ALL NATIONS OF THE WORLD.
THIS definition of State of the Sons of Israel carries a tone of unmistakable pride.
Lets say it right.
MUHAMMED THE GREAT صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم FOUNDED THE GREAT STATE OF ISRAEL, IN 620 AD.
I say this not not out of arrogance. The Quran bears testament to it. Bani Israel is mentioned at least 41 times in The Quran.
Let us salute the confidence of its founder who :
• liberated minds,
• dismantled entrenched systems of blind authority,
• and established a society based on justice and equality.
Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم emerges here not as a distant spiritual symbol, but as a head of state—a leader who speaks in the first person, owning the transformation he has brought about.
This pride is not empty. It is grounded in achievement.
Yet it is also a warning.
To be elevated is not to be permanently superior—it is to be entrusted with responsibility.
MERITOCRACY ...
The people addressed are being reminded that their distinction lies not in lineage, but in their adherence to the principles that have raised them to Authority.
MERITOCRACY was their secret. That is the نعمت ۔
To forget the “نعمت”—the liberty, the law, the clarity—is to fall back into the very chains from which they were freed.
The verse, therefore, is not about past glory. It is about preserving a system.
It is a call to remember:
• the liberty that was granted,
• the order that was established,
• and the authority that made it possible.
In this reading, Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم stands in the Qur’an with clarity, authority, and justified pride—as the founder of a state that transformed human society through law, reason, and equality.
This is not theology.
This is governance, memory, and responsibility.
And the message remains as urgent today as it was then:
A people rise when they embrace liberty, law, and reason.
They fall when they return to superstition, hierarchy, and unexamined belief.
The call of “Ya Bani Israel” is therefore timeless.
It is a call to every people who wish to rise again.
MERITOCRACY is the secret of the glory of USA . It is the secret of every glorious nation of the world .
Let all nations strive to become a great nation today, like Israel
