Ohio was reminded today that the fight for the right to vote is not history. It is happening right now.

Earlier this week, I took to the House floor to say that Juneteenth reminds us of the long battle to secure voting rights and Black political power.

That fight is ours to carry today.

Northeast Ohio’s own Laila Edwards made history, and this weekend, Cleveland Heights will honor her. Laila is a true inspiration to our community, and she proves what passion and hard work can achieve. We couldn’t be prouder of you, Laila!

This week, Republicans passed a reckless budget that does nothing to lower costs for Americans, but does give ICE billions of YOUR tax dollars to continue their reign of terror on our communities.

I refuse to give another dime to Trump’s lawless ICE- that’s why I voted NO.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Housing Expo. This event was all about meeting folks where they are & bringing resources directly to the people.

I’m glad we could help renters, homeowners, & buyers get additional resources and information.

The Supreme Court has ripped the Voting Rights Act to shreds, and now Black voting rights are at risk.
 
I will not watch this happen without a fight.
