Our Story
NTEU Chapter 280 represents professional employees at the headquarters offices of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This includes scientists, attorneys, engineers, librarians, economists, and other professionals, as the term is defined under federal law. For decades, this chapter has fought for the rights and benefits of EPA employees, achieving improvements in working conditions including flexible work schedules, reductions-in-force protections, transit subsidies, child care facilities, and many others.
Now, our rights as federal employees are once again under attack. NTEU National and Chapter 280 are working together to fight back against encroachments on federal employees’ rights and benefits, including EPA’s recent decision to reopen the 2015 collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Chapter 280 is working hard every day to push back against attacks on the rights of EPA employees, to fight for the benefits EPA employees need and deserve, and to stand in solidarity with workers across the federal government.
