Climate startups are critical to achieving global climate goals, but in many emerging markets they face significant barriers to growth, investment and scale.

Our new technical perspective in partnership with World Resources Institute explores what it takes to build stronger climate startup ecosystems in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs). The piece highlights the importance of coordinated support across the startup journey – from early-stage grant funding and technical assistance to policy frameworks, investment readiness and stronger connections between entrepreneurs, investors, governments and ecosystem enablers.

As countries pursue economic growth, job creation and climate resilience, investing in climate entrepreneurship will be essential to unlocking local innovation and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future.
