Happy December, Y’all! It’s hard to believe but here we are at the end of another year. As you begin to reflect on your year and assess your wins, I hope you are feeling accomplished and encouraged that you will accomplish any remaining goals. Take these words from Zora Neale Hurston with you into the month and finish the year strong. “Mama exhorted her children at every opportunity to ‘jump at the sun’. We might not land on the sun, but at least we would get off the ground.” Don’t be afraid to jump this month, y’all. Your big dreams are waiting.

Channel your inner Zora with these affirmations this month:
✨ I do not weep at the world; I am too busy sharpening my oyster knife.
✨ I am unapologetically ME.
✨ I take will take every opportunity to jump at the sun.
✨ I can and I will and who gon check me. 💁🏾‍♀️

Shout out to my Young King, Joel, pictured.

Happy Monday, Y’all! Last week was a test. A test of my faith, my patience, and my gangster. Right when I felt like I had gotten back into the groove of the school year, a huge and unexpected shift threw everything off track. Being a teacher is hard. Parenting is really hard. Doing both in a pandemic is seemingly impossible. So as I go into this new week, with its new challenges that are already proving to be complex; I do so reminding myself who tf I AM. And I know I got this. All of it.

💪🏾 I am brave enough to embrace my true power.
💪🏾 I am no longer afraid of the uncertain; I am fully equipped to overcome any challenge.
💪🏾 I was divinely chosen for such a time as this.
💪🏾 I am powerful and limitless. I always win.

I’m taking these affirmations of P O W E R with me this week. I hope they work for you too.
