UNV (United Nations Volunteers) encourages everyone to share messages on the social media with this tag and use their Trello board.

Today is World Aids Day, a commemoration day to show support to those who suffer from it, remember the ones who left us and eliminate the stigma around the illness by creating awareness.

This remembrance day started in 1988 to eliminate some myths, to share knowledge and make people aware of it.

You will find here some relevant data gathered from WHO that proves we still have a lot to learn about this illness.

👉38.4 million [33.9 million–43.8 million] people living with HIV at the end of 2021.

👉84.2 million [64.0 million–113.0 million] people have been diagnosed with HIV since the start of the pandemic and 1.5 million [1.1 million–2.0 million] people became infected with HIV in 2021.

👉40.1 million [33.6 million–48.6million] people have died from HIV-related illness since we have records and only in 2021, 650 000 people [510 000–860 000] passed away from AIDS-related illness.
