Happy Earth Day! 🌍 We took to the streets with to share food from two of our weekly food rescues with passersby. These fruits, veggies, and bagels were perfectly delicious & safe to eat, but would've otherwise ended up in the trash or compost bin!

Reduce, reuse, recycle isn't just about plastic and paper: we have to consider how much food we produce & use it with care.

Our food rescuers are the lifeblood of our program. We would be nothing without the incredible volunteers giving their time & energy to deliver food donations, every day of the year.

Teamwork makes the dream work! Longtime friends Elana and Rachael () teamed up for TWO food rescues last week, catching up while supporting their community.
They delivered meals from and at Covington & Burling to Judiciary House, a DCHA apartment building for seniors and residents with disabilities.
Thanks to Elana and Rachael, these meals found a new home rather than going to waste!
