Children with obesity may develop long-term health problems.

A PCORI-funded randomized controlled trial compared two programs within primary care to see which was more effective in promoting weight loss:
1️⃣ Enhanced standard of care: Counseling sessions with primary care clinicians
2️⃣ Enhanced standard of care plus family-based behavioral treatment: The above plus counseling sessions with trained health coaches

In a PCORI-funded study, 2 approaches for treating adults with chronic migraines and medication overuse were compared.

While the 2 approaches worked about the same to reduce the number of days per month with a migraine, compared to people who continued taking the overused medicine, individuals who stopped taking the overused medicine:
◼️ Had fewer days when they used medication to relieve symptoms
◼️ Were less likely to overuse medication

These results can assist individuals and their clinicians in managing migraine pain and avoiding medication overuse. Learn more: https://pcori.me/3oRC18z
