Supporting global development through sustainable tourism.

Big Medicine: York Outdoors teaser 01/16/2025

Solimar has been honored to support the development and promotion of sustainable travel along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail for the last decade. Although our contract is completed with the National Park Service we continue to support the Lewis and Clark Trail Experience and the non-profit Lewis and Clark Trail Alliance continue the work we started.

We are excited for this new documentary that will tell the story of York the only African American on the Corps of Discovery and honor his valuable contribution to our nation.

Chief Minister Karki and Swiss Ambassador Dr. Meuwly Jointly Inaugurate TDDP 12/10/2024

Exciting news from Koshi Province in Nepal, the gateway to the world’s highest peak—Mount Everest—and many hidden gems beyond!

Solimar's newest project - The Nepal - Trail-based Tourism Development Project (TDDP), funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented with Helvetas & Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) was launched last week. This initiative aims to ensure that tourism growth benefits more communities, not just the famous destinations.

Solimar’s role will be to support the creation of a provincial-level Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMO)—one of the first in Nepal. By bringing together public and private tourism stakeholders, we’ll help diversify offerings, strengthen local capacities, and foster inclusive economic development for the entire province.

The recent inauguration by the Chief Minister and Swiss Ambassador signals a new chapter for sustainable tourism in Koshi Province. Learn more about this milestone:
