It was a beautiful Saturday for some LGBTQ+ trivia in honor of Arlington Pride yesterday! Today we’re keeping the good vibes going at Pride Sunday for Union Baptist Temple. For anyone attending, see you there!

Just TWO WEEKS until we’re all reunited at Capital Pride!! This year we’ll be joined by our usual contingent of parents, grandparents and allies, our friends bringing the percussion for the 4th year in a row, and our new friends , who work tirelessly to bring visibility to LGBTQ+ issues and advocate for positive change. So many people ready to show you their love! 😭 Bring it, DC!!

To help voters make informed decisions, we sent the same set of questions related to inclusivity and support for LGBTQIA students to all candidates in early March 2026, with a follow-up reminder sent two weeks ago. Each candidate received identical questions and was given the same opportunity to respond.

We received responses from the four candidates highlighted here. The remaining candidates were contacted multiple times but did not respond to our requests by the publication deadline.

We appreciate the candidates’ willingness to share their perspectives and priorities with the community. Their responses reflected a range of views, but all engaged directly with the questions posed regarding LGBTQIA students, families, staff, and inclusive school environments.
