Today I turn 52 🌙🪷🕊️
Something about this number feels powerful…52 weeks in a year. And nearly one lunar rhythm for every week of the year.
I recently learned that in ancient Mesoamerican tradition, 52 years marked the completion of a sacred calendar cycle — a threshold where one cycle ends and another begins. A moment of renewal.
This resonates deeply.
So here I am, stepping across that threshold with gratitude for every lesson, every wild turn, every heartbreak, every burst of beauty that brought me here. Holding a full deck of lived experience… and still curious about the cards yet to be dealt.
And in the spirit of celebrating this threshold year, I’m sharing a little birthday love with you all ✨
Everything currently on my website is 52% off using this code: BIRTHDAYLOVE52 (good for one item). There’s nothing new up there right now — my newest pieces are hanging on my rolling racks, building up for upcoming festivals and local markets — but there are still some beautiful treasures sitting on the site that I’m happy to send off with this birthday discount. 🫶🏽
Also wearing one of my newest pieces today — a Kaftan dress upcycled from deadstock denim, paired with a beautiful vintage Aguacatán belt. Got on my mind!! 🌵🎶🌅
Here’s to new cycles, moonlit intuition, and the magic of beginning again. 💫

One of my dearest longtime friends—my soul sister, my bestie and literal bench mate from high school in Indonesia—left the U.S. yesterday and returned to the homeland after building a life here for more than three decades.
At 18 she came to the U.S. alone, super brave and full of hope. She built a life here for more than 30 years. And now, because of the decisions and systems shaping immigration policy in this country, and because of the cruelty and broken systems of those in power, she made the heartbreaking choice to leave—unsure if she will ever be able to return.
This is the human side of politics. Real lives. Real families. Real loss.
She distilled three decades of life into three suitcases and a backpack. The ultimate practice of letting go. Of surrendering to massive change and uncertainty ahead. And she did it with grace, humility, and true grit.
She is my hero.
Before leaving, she gifted me a box of textiles she’s collected over the years. This kids piece is one of many to come—created with love and intention from her fabric remnants and salvaged garments she passed on to me—carrying her story forward through cloth. 🙏🏽🪷🕊️♻️
Yesterday morning I was able to meet her briefly at the San Francisco airport to hug her goodbye. A moment I will hold and cherish in my heart forever. ❤️❤️❤️
I love you, sister.
Onwards and upwards. ✨

Little Sasha rocking some upcycled magic ✨
This vest + pants combo once belonged to big brother Nikita… and now getting a whole new life. Pieces like this are exactly why I love creating with durability and longevity in mind — clothes that can be worn, loved, passed down, and worn again. ♻️🌏🕊️
Nothing makes me happier than seeing these threads continue their journey. 🥰Thank you mama Marina for sharing this sweet moment 💛🫶🏽
