Update on the Magic Castle.

Update on The Magic Castle from Simone Turkington, AMA President.

I have an update on how our beloved Magic Castle is holding up after the fire. Randy Pitchford has shared a lot of details with me which I am happy to pass on to you.

The LAFD arrived swiftly and were able to contain the fire before the sprinkler systems were triggered, thus preventing an unthinkable amount of water damage throughout the building.

The former GM's office on the third floor was destroyed, but fortunately, the office is directly above the recently remodeled kitchen. It was recently sealed and had new safety equipment and ventilation which triggered the alarm early. The new sealing contained all the water, which in turn preserved all the member and guest spaces. Had this happened a month earlier before the renovations, the situation would have been dire.

Randy and Kristy already have contractors working and continuing round the clock to get things repaired, replaced, and ready for inspection. No time yet on reopening, but as they are pulling out all the stops, I am optimistic.
