To help my children contextualize the chaos, I dug up this 2018 photo of them “skating” on the Capital Reflecting Pond during the (exactly three years ago today) It was heartbreaking to see the terror in their eyes as the wildness unfolded. I wanted them to see their own smiles in front of The Capital.

5 years ago I was invited to speak in London & Cambridge University on my efforts in Syria. On a day off, I went way out of my way to find this 500 year old pub. Allegedly, Bram Stoker based Dracula off one of haunted tales from the place. They were kind enough to let me take mulled wine to go in a soup container!

We may not know who’s President yet, but I promise I’ll be jumping for my constituents as the New Commissioner!
