Today, Ambassador Cindy McCain steps down from her role as executive director of the World Food Programme following three years of providing life-changing food assistance to millions across the globe.

At Sedona Forum 2026, she cited the key to WFP's success, "I've never met a more devoted, demonstrative, empowered, tough bunch of people that are so devoted to making sure that people are safe, healthy, and fed than our WFP frontline workers."

"Unlike traditional political conferences, the Sedona Forum has built its reputation on fostering direct, bipartisan dialogue. This year’s event continued that mission with appearances from Democratic and Republican lawmakers, military officials, humanitarian leaders and media organizations spanning ideological divides."
