Mori-sensei and Omori-sensei are hard at work at the AP Japanese Reading in Tampa!Mori-sensei is the Chief Reader (a.k.a. The Boss), leading and organizing the entire team of readers (scorers)! Omori-sensei also has a demanding job that requires both accuracy and speed while scoring thousands of AP Japanese exams. She was on a mission to become the fastest scorer and help her team beat the other team. Mission accomplished! ππ But letβs just say her shoulders and neck are feeling it now. ππ
Of course, we still managed to find some time for pickleball. π Omori-sensei even squeezed in a little pool time, too!
As an unexpected bonus, the New Zealand Menβs National Soccer Team is staying at our hotel ahead of their World Cup match on Saturday! β½π³πΏ Mori-sensei even got her picture taken with some of the players. Omori-sensei, meanwhile, completely missed the opportunity because she was lured away by the desserts in the lounge. π°π Priorities, people. π

A special shoutout to Jaime-san, who will be graduating from the MASIA program (Master of Arts in Asian Studies) next week! πβ¨
It has been such an honor teaching you over the past two years at Georgetown. You have accomplished so much during your time here, and you have truly been like a big sister (ε§εΎ‘οΌγγγ) to so many of the undergraduate students studying East Asian languages, especially Japanese π
Your presence will definitely be missed next year, but we are hopeful that you will still be around DC a little longer! Wishing you all the best as you begin your career as a U.S. diplomat. We canβt wait to see where in the world your journey takes you! π
Please stay in touch! You know we expect occasional Georgetown Instagram appearances from you π Congratulations, Jaime-san!! β€οΈ .cantwell
