Our Story

USLEAP, a program of the International Labor Rights Forum

(1) advocates for structural reform to advance worker rights protections at the international level (e.g. trade agreements) and national level (e.g. strong, well enforced labor laws); denounces violence against trade unionists in Guatemala, Honduras and Colombia; and holding corporations accountable to their pledges of social responsibility and fair trade, in order to help ensure respect for workers' rights;

(2) supports workers organizing to improve wages and working conditions at specific plantations or factories in Latin America by collaborating on targeted campaigns, particularly those in the banana sector.
