At first glance, Australia can seem surprisingly straightforward. Then you look closer at a map.

Sydney to Uluru is a three-hour flight. Cairns and Tasmania sit on opposite ends of a country nearly the size of the U.S. The distances are so much bigger than you think, and the landscapes couldn't be more different.

But that's what makes Australia so rewarding. So rather than trying to fit Sydney, the Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and Tasmania into a single trip, go deeper into fewer places.

Spend time in the Red Centre with Indigenous guides and stand before Uluru at sunrise. Venture into the Kimberley and explore a coastline that feels almost untouched. Explore Tasmania's wilderness without feeling pressured to be somewhere else tomorrow.

We've been watching the Delta closely this season, waiting for the floodwaters to arrive. Now that they have, the excitement is real.

Swipe through to see why this is such a special year for the Okavango.

*With thanks to our partners at Wilderness, whose live updates from the Delta have been impossible not to get excited about.
