What happens when local leaders have the trust and flexibility to test bold ideas early?

In Ukraine, Smart Osvita launched the pilot phase of PowerSchool—an initiative supporting schools affected by the war through energy resilience, educational capacity building, and psychosocial support.

With early support from GlobalGiving and our community of supporters, Smart Osvita was able to turn an idea into a tested model that is now reaching far beyond its original scope.

This is what community-led change can look like: local expertise, flexible support, and solutions built to adapt to real needs.

“I am only one person and can only give so much…”

For Kenneth, giving to the TIES.charity Kenya University Scholarships Project is a way to help young women access post-secondary education—and create change that can last for generations.

Every donor has a reason for giving. This is Kenneth’s.

Today is the first-ever World Football Giving Day—a global giving moment powered by Common Goal that brings together players, clubs, brands, fans, and community organizations around one shared act: giving back.

Football has a way of bringing people together. Across languages, borders, and backgrounds, the game can spark joy, build belonging, and create opportunities for young people and communities around the world.

That’s why GlobalGiving is proud to support World Football Giving Day and spotlight partners using football as a force for good:

⚽ Força Foundation International
⚽ Street Soccer Barcelona
⚽ Karishma Ali Foundation
⚽ Pygmy Survival Alliance
⚽ Fundación Sinkumunchis

And many more.

Explore participating projects and help football show its heart today.

This month’s Project of the Month is helping communities in Nepal heal from trauma—together. 💚

In many communities, mental health support remains out of reach due to stigma, silence, and lack of resources. But Healing Together is building something different: locally-led Healing Hubs where teachers, parents, and community leaders are trained as “Healing Advocates.”

They learn counseling skills, emotional first aid, and trauma-informed care, then return to their communities as trusted listeners and supporters.

Healing doesn’t happen in isolation, and when communities have the tools to process trauma together, that healing can ripple across generations.

“Our small (yet mighty!) team of local healing advocates in Nepal, Uganda, and the U.S. remind me every day that hope is a verb,” shared Amy Paulson, Executive Director of Healing Together.

“This is what collective hope looks like.”
