☀️ Summer heat can be dangerous. Do you know the difference between heat exhaustion and heat stroke?

Heat exhaustion is a health-related illness that occurs when your body overheats and loses excessive amounts of water and salt through heavy sweating.

Heat stroke is a medical emergency and occurs when the body's temperature-regulating system fails, causing core body temperature to rise rapidly to 104°F (40°C) or higher.

Learn the warning signs, take heat seriously, and remember: hydration, shade, and breaks can help prevent heat-related illness.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of caring for our overall well-being and reminding one another that seeking support is a sign of strength.

In this special patient story, Damian shares how finding a trusted relationship with Dr. Liu and the team at Solidaritus Health made a meaningful difference in his life. Feeling heard, supported, and truly cared for can make all the difference, and no one should have to face life’s challenges alone. He writes:

"My experience is always positive. My primary care and the team always takes the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and make sure I understand my treatment. They all are very professional, respectful, and helpful, and I always feel comfortable discussing my health needs with them."

We’re grateful to Damian for sharing his experience and helping break the stigma around seeking care.

Thank you, Damian, for trusting us with your care. 💜

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equity.

Observed each year on June 19, Juneteenth honors the day in 1865 when news of emancipation reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

Happy Juneteenth.

Too many men wait until something feels wrong to go see their doctor. But some of the most serious health issues, like prostate cancer, don't announce themselves until they're harder to fight.

Ken didn't wait. And thanks to Dr. DeLoa at our South San Francisco location, his prostate cancer was caught early, when treatment is more effective and outcomes are on your side.

Your annual exam could be the most important appointment you make this year. This Men's Health Month, we encourage you to take that step for yourself, and for the people who count on you.

Sunscreen is the single most effective tool we have against UV damage, and UV damage is the leading cause of skin cancer. Read your sunscreen label to make sure it checks the following boxes:

☀️Broad Spectrum protection to guard against UVA + UVB rays
☀️SPF 30 or higher for everyday protection
☀️SPF 50+ for long days outside, beach days, or sports
☀️Water Resistant formulas if you’ll be sweating or swimming

And don’t forget sunscreen only works if you reapply every 2 hours! Your skin will thank you later. 🙌

Check your skin and know what to watch for 🔍

Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., but it’s also one of the most preventable. A few simple habits can go a long way.

When you’re doing a quick skin check, keep the ABCDEs in mind:
• Asymmetry
• Border (irregular edges)
• Color (uneven or changing)
• Diameter (about the size of a pencil eraser or bigger)
• Evolving (anything that’s changing over time)

And remember to reapply the sunscreen ☀️
