Our 20th DRYerson Festival was one to remember!
The rains held off for most of the day and we welcomed dozens of CCJ members, supporters and volunteers, park staff, and Greene County residents for free food from Fredericktown Butcher Shop, music by Dan Baker Guitarist, kids' activities, and fun.
It also featured the premiere of Friends of Duke Lake Film, a documentary short about the loss of Duke Lake and community efforts to restore and revitalize the park. With screenings in our makeshift movie tent throughout the event, attendees got the chance to remember what the park was like before the lake was destroyed by coal mining and see how residents have continued to keep that memory alive for more than two decades.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event, shared your memories, watched the film, and reminded us why, 20 years later, this park is still a special place in southwestern Pennsylvania π©΅πͺΊπποΈπ
