IT IS FRIGID OUT THERE
Doggy says I don't want to freeze to death tonight and the State Police and I agreed. Doggy hungry and thirsty. Some warmth and cuddly coming doggy's way.
Car ride didn't agree with doggy; he puked in a closed folded crate--try cleaning that up in this temperature.
INSULT TO THE WORK I DO
I have held off posting this as I thought I could calm down -- NOT
When I place an animal in a new home (mostly agricultural animals, birds, reptiles, etc., as I rarely do dog or cat adoptions) I do so with the utmost trust and vetting so that animal lives with the adopter for life. I also do contracts. Unfortunately, my trust in someone I knew led me to not do a contract. I also rarely collect adoption fees. In this case the adoption fee was 'bartered' so I could help another animal. The adopter jammed it down my throat that they "paid" for the animal and therefore could do as they pleased. In this, they are legally correct as there was no contract (those that know me are aware I am a paralegal). The adopter offered for me to "buy" the animal back at an outrageous amount. The adopter accused me of being drunk on a phone call - NOT (I am currently having a speech problem). The adopter took the Humane animal - that I took from a bad situation - to an AUCTION. AN AUCTION. How low can one go.... I do not care what circumstances one is in; give the animal back to me so I can keep it safe. I don't care if you vetted, trained and fed - these things are required to take care of an animal you adopted. This was a massive kick to me that I will never ever forgive or forget.

NOVA UPDATE
It is with such happiness that I post this picture of Nova with her new Brother, Othello. They went together like apple pie and ice cream. They play with each other. Nova's adopter is wonderful and perfect. Nova will continue to see the vets at Ohio State University. She has lifelong medical issues. The adopter will take excellent care of her. I miss her, but she is on a great home.
