Sebastian Sam Previti
Washington Twp. Supervisor Sebastian Sam Previti's Page: TRUTH, TRANSPARENCY, & INFORMATION. Meeting
04/29/2026
On Friday, we officially broke ground on our new Department of Public Works (DPW) facility — a project that has been years in the making. Located at our Waste Water Treatment Plant on Powell Road.
When I took office as Supervisor, I discovered hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of equipment that was — and still is — not properly secured. That needed to change. This new facility is a major step forward in protecting our township’s valuable assets and improving how we serve our residents.
By housing our equipment indoors, we will:
• Secure and protect critical equipment
• Ensure faster response times by having equipment ready at a moment’s notice
• Shield equipment from harsh weather conditions
• Extend the lifespan of costly infrastructure investments
• Reduce delays caused by weather exposure
This facility brings us in line with neighboring communities like Shelby Township, Macomb Township, and Clinton Township, all of which have made similar investments in modern DPW operations.
Our new DPW building is designed not just for today, but for the future. With room to grow and the ability to expand, it was built with long-term foresight. This is a facility that will serve our community for generations — potentially over a century — thanks to its strong foundation and thoughtful layout.
Our current DPW garage has been outgrown for over 20 years. Moving forward, it will be repurposed for misc storage, including street lights, fire hydrants, snowplows, lawn equipment, and cemetery maintenance needs.
This investment ensures our DPW staff has a safe, functional space to work, maintain equipment, and continue expanding services for our township.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to DPW Director Rich Amormino for his leadership, guidance, and dedication in helping design this facility as he transitions into retirement. We are grateful he will continue to help oversee the project through completion, expected within the next year.
I’d also like to welcome and thank incoming DPW Director Josh Chaffin for continuing to build on this progress and strengthen our department.
Finally, thank you to AEW Engineers for their design work and Roncelli for serving as construction manager on this important project.
Special things to Don Brown for attending the event representing the public works department of Macomb county.
