Three brands of powdered infant formula were recalled on February 17, 2022 for possible Cronobacter contamination.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to use Similac, Alimentum, or EleCare powdered formula if:
• the first two digits of the code on the container are 22 through 37, and
• the code on the container contains K8, SH, or Z2, and
• the "use-by" date is 4-1-2022 (APR 2022) or later.
The FDA received several consumer complaints of sick infants who were fed powdered formula and opened an investigation. Cronobacter is a bacterium. Illness from this organism is rare, but infection can cause meningitis and septicemia in infants. The infection can be fatal or result in long-term complications.
Do not feed infants recalled powdered formula. Throw it away or return it for a refund. Visit FDA’s website for more information: https://bit.ly/353UUOu.
I have someone willing to give away a lot of size 7 diapers.
