NEST revitalizes the community, impacting the quality of life, through affordable community dev
07/10/2026
More than 20 Waterbury residents showed up this week to support affordable housing and homeownership opportunities in our city. Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and stand with us. ❤️
Unfortunately, community members were not given the opportunity to speak.
But this conversation isn't over.
🏠 Housing affordability impacts families, seniors, young adults, and working people across Waterbury.
📞 Now we need you to contact the Mayor, your Alderman, and your State Representative and tell them why affordable housing and homeownership matter to you.
Your story is powerful. Your experience matters. Your voice deserves to be heard.
Together, let's ensure Waterbury remains a place where people of all income levels can live, work, and thrive.

🍯🐝 Sweet news is coming!
Last fall, we celebrated NEST's first-ever honey harvest. What started as a special community event has grown into another successful season for our hardworking bees!
Later this week, we'll begin collecting names from those interested in purchasing 6 oz jars of our fresh Urban Nectar honey, harvested right here from our community garden apiary.
Stay tuned for details and get ready to bring home a taste of local sweetness. 🍯🌼

What kind of city do we want Waterbury to be for the next generation?
A city where working families can achieve the dream of homeownership. A city where teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, young professionals, and longtime residents can afford to stay, invest, and build their future here.
In the coming days, an important decision will be made that could impact housing opportunities in our community for years to come. Community voices have the power to influence that conversation.
If you believe homeownership should be within reach for more Waterbury families, consider joining your neighbors, community advocates, and local leaders to make your voice heard.
Whether you're a homeowner, renter, parent, business owner, faith leader, or simply someone who cares about the future of our city, your perspective matters.
Strong communities are built when residents show up, participate, and speak out about the issues that affect them.
Join us on July 8 and help shape a future where more families have the opportunity to put down roots, build equity, and thrive in Waterbury.
