💧🐾 **July is Pet Hydration Awareness Month!** 🐾💧

Fresh, clean water is one of the simplest—and most important—ways to keep your pet healthy.

Water supports nearly every function in your pet's body, from regulating body temperature and aiding digestion to keeping the kidneys functioning properly. During the warm summer months, pets can become dehydrated much more quickly, especially after exercise or spending time outdoors.

Here are a few easy ways to help keep your pet hydrated this summer:

💦 Refresh water bowls daily with clean, cool water.
🚰 Wash bowls regularly to prevent bacteria buildup.
🌳 Provide shade and plenty of water whenever your pet is outside.
🥣 Consider adding moisture to your pet's diet with canned food if recommended by your veterinarian.
🚗 Bring a portable water bowl and fresh water on walks, hikes, and road trips.
🏖️ Encourage frequent water breaks during outdoor play.

Keep an eye out for signs of dehydration, including:
🐶 Dry or tacky gums
😴 Lethargy
🍽️ Decreased appetite
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
💛 Dark yellow urine
🐾 Loss of skin elasticity

If you notice any signs of dehydration, or if your pet isn't drinking normally, contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
